3-Minute Thread: Alejandra Sabillon
"Go get your photo taken in a photo booth with your friends"
I met Alejandra back when I was living in New York. She’s one of the best DJs around, and has the cutest taste in shoes. She’s petite, I’m nearly 6’2”, so when we’re together we look like one of those photos of a big animal and a small one being friends.
Fun fact: we attended legendary street photographer Bill Cunningham’s memorial together. If Bill was still alive, I’m sure he’d love to snap a picture of Alejandra. Instead, here’s one she snapped of herself:
Who are you?
Alejandra Sabillón.
What are you wearing?
Vintage slip skirt, thrifted ballerina flats, leg warmers, wrap tank my friend gave me, sleeves I made, and a bandana.
Why did you choose this outfit?
It was comfortable and casual but I liked all the little cut outs wearing a bunch of different pieces made.
Where did you wear it/ where are you planning to wear it?
I wore it to a very casual hang at a nearby friends apartment one evening.
What’s the best style lesson you’ve learned over the years?
Be yourself and wear whatever you feel the most authentic in.
One person you think has great style?
Kelis. I love her 2000s looks.
Best life hack?
Don’t drink a lot.
