3 Minute Thread: Chynna Richardson
"If you have to talk yourself into an outfit, it’s not the one."
It’s my girl Chynna! Organised, creative, a cutie-but-also-a-baddie. I met Chynna at an old job and we’ve been friends ever since. I admire her blend of cool-headedness, efficiency, and fun - all of which are evidenced in her style. Enjoyy.
Who are you?
I’m Chynna Richardson, born and semi-raised in London. I’m a Project Director slash Head of Production, which basically means I spin big ideas into reality. And I like things that sparkle.
What are you wearing?
Okay, let’s take it from the crown down..
Sunglasses: Oakley – giving speed racer meets gallery girl. Top: Uniqlo – because basics can still slap. Bag: Diesel – she’s slouchy, she’s loud, she holds snacks. Jeans: Also Diesel – double trouble. Shoes: Maison Margiela – because toes should have mystery. The hardware? A mix of Marla Aaron, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Maria Tash, CC-Steding, plus a few little things I’ve made with my own two hands. Gap filler grill by the one and only PLYGRND. And could never forget my nails by the queen herself BhamBNails.
Why did you choose this outfit?
It’s giving “sun’s out but London will humble you by 7PM.” That weird in-between vibe. Honestly, I got dressed in 15 minutes.. it was a gut choice. Functional, flirty, unfussy.
Where did you wear it?
A cute friend date: we hit a branded pop-up, then parked ourselves in the sun for drinks, which turned into a late-night bite in Chinatown.
Best style lesson?
Don’t force it. Sometimes less is more. But also? Sometimes more is more. It depends on the day, the mood, the playlist. If you have to talk yourself into an outfit, it’s not the one. Some days you’re chill, and some days you’re a spectacle. Just commit either way.
Style icon?
Rihanna (the blueprint), Yoon Ambush (obsessed), and Veneda Carter (texture queen). All three do what they want.
Life hack?
For me personally? Wearing black. Not because it’s “chic,” but because it lets me do whatever the hell I want, however I want. It makes me feel the most confident. Plus, it cuts the morning stress and keeps the silhouette clean. It’s not about playing it safe, it’s about playing it smart.
Favourite person to follow?
Any cat meme account with chaotic energy and looks like it was made in 2009.
One recommendation to read/watch/listen/see or do?
Go to Japan. It rewired my brain (in the best way) and I didn’t come back the same. Japan has something you feel, not just see. I think about it all the time. Can’t wait to go back.
