3 Minute Thread: Priyesh Patel
"I always cut my own hair, not super well but I can only blame myself in the end"
One of the questions I ask people in these interviews is ‘who is your favourite person to follow’? Mine is Priyesh, or rather his alter ego, londisn16. He’s the admin behind the Instagram of London’s best grocery store (don’t believe me, read here). I used to live nearby, and loved going not only for Anju’s homemade specials, but also to check out what Priyesh was wearing. Here he is in one of his amazing looks:
Who are you?
I’m Priyesh, I help run a small grocery store with my family in Stoke Newington/London, Londis N16 (@londisn16).
What are you wearing?
I’m wearing a black Comme t-shirt, a white long sleeve I picked up from a charity shop, Rick Owens x Champion shorts, 3/4 grey leggings from eBay, an Eckhaus Latta snatched hoodie, black Uniqlo socks, Prada Sport black leather loafers, a black bag made out of a old t-shirt by my friend Theo and a Uniqlo crossbody. Earrings by Georgia Kemball and Badgers Velvet, an old gold hoop and a necklace I got at a ceramic fair.
Why did you choose this outfit?
I recently watched the Suspiria remake and was into the outfits the dancers were wearing in the studio. So this is my take on that. It’s also perfect for the transition from spring to summer.
Where did you wear it?
It was my day off so I went to Wimbledon flea market (where I bought this quilt), and then went to see a few friends at a pub.
What's the best style lesson you've learned over the years?
It’s helpful if you have an inspiration or reference point that brings everything together. Often the best references aren't from fashion.
One person you think has great style?
Miuccia Prada!
Best life hack?
I always cut my own hair (not super well but I’m happy with it and I can only blame myself in the end).
Your favourite person to follow?
One recommendation to read/ watch/ listen/ see or do?
Watch ‘Crossing’ by Levan Akin and listen to ‘Um’ by Martha Skye Murphy.
Follow Priyesh on Instagram and visit Londis N16 on Tuesdays and Fridays for the best food you’ll ever eat.
