A Thread about my career: Henrietta Gallina, Global Director of Image and Content at Mulberry

The Global Director of Image and Content at Mulberry and co-founder of Citizen magazine talks about carving her path in fashion

Welcome to another episode of the Threads of Conversation podcast. This week I’m trialling a new format called ‘A Thread about my career’. These conversations will be slightly shorter and more informal than the classic episodes, and will cover the career journey and learnings of various fashion industry experts.

My guest this week is Henrietta Gallina, a creative director who’s currently the Global Director of Image and Content at Mulberry. Prior to her role at Mulberry, Henrietta worked for brands like Topshop, Fred Perry and Karla Otto, and was Creative Director at Universal Standard in New York. She’s also the co-founder of Citizen, an independent magazine documenting culture through the lens of Blackness. Recent cover stars include Andre3000 and Kendrick Lamar.

Henrietta moves quietly in the fashion industry, but her work speaks volumes. Her vision is fresh, elevated, inclusive, and directional. You know one of her images when you see it. She’s also a frequent collaborator of fellow Threads of Conversation podcast guests Alva Claire and Ronan Mckenzie. If you liked this episode, let me know in the comments! And tell me who you want to hear from next.

Threads of the week

Mourning the lack of sun here in London with a funereal summer outfit: COS boots, Nike shorts, vintage Harley Davidson tee, secondhand Hugo Boss blazer.

I’m making headlines again…

Nicolas di Felice discusses his JPG collaboration. (Nicolas also gets a shoutout in Agathe Rousselle’s Threads of Conversation episode, where she discusses wearing Courreges at Cannes for her film Titane.)

Fascinating read about how The Guardian are making all their election graphics by hand. Art > AI (for the time being…)
