In this episode I catch up with Margaret Zhang, the original multi-hyphenate and now Editor-in-chief of Vogue China. After rising to fame as a teenager via her blog, Shine By Three, Margaret then transitioned into photography and film direction, moving to New York and founding her consultancy, Background (all whilst completing a law degree). In February 2021 she was named Vogue China’s new EIC at just 27 years old. Recorded shortly before her appointment was announced, here Margaret tells us about her fascinating journey via eight pieces from her excellent wardrobe.
Recorded in August 2020 in collaboration with Sometimes Radio at The Standard London.
